Volkswagen Golf V - Vw golf 1.4 gt tsi 170 MAJOR PROBLEM - dieselnut : It sounds like the turbo may have failed & spewing oil into the exhaust. You need to get it recovered to your garage & certainly don't start the engine without first checking the oil level.
Hi and apologies if this has been asked and answered before. I am looking at buying a 2011 Golf 1.4 TSI - the 122 bhp version not the GTI. There is a lot of info on the internet about cam chain failures on the TSI engines but I would like to know if VW have addressed this and, if so, when.

VW Golf - VW 1.4 TSI 160 - Ian91 : Snap again - I have the 1.4 TS DSG 122bhp model 6 months old and also have this problem. Its my 3rd golf and this is the first one that puts out white smoke even when the engine has warmed up and the outside temperature is above 10c.
